Help 24 Hour Gaming For Charity - Donations wanted please!

That's right, tomorrow I will be playing computer games for 24 hours solid with a small group of friends in aid of paediatric cancer research and treatment as part of the http://extralife.sarcasticgamer.com/ effort!

It sounds like fun but I assure you, it isn't. When sleep deprivation really hits everyone reaches what I call "the hatred hours" were no game is fun and you loathe your companions. Yet we will proceed! We will conquer!

I'd love to get some donations from you folks here at FO, even if you dislike me (as I know a few of you do) this isn't about me, this is about the charity. Please donate what you can to this effort, it's a good cause and if are someone who hates me remember that donating helps keep me in pain.

Donate here! http://waystogive.texaschildrens.org...789&frsid=2699

What games will you be playing? This is important.

I am playing the shite that is 24: The Game (PS2), Seven Samurai 200XX (PS2) and Pimp My Ride (PS2) to completion alongside other games for short periods. My ongoing "nightmare challenge" is finishing story mode of F-Zero GX, a game I haven't played in years and never got past stage 4 of story.

My companions (and me at times) are playing Golden Axe 1-3, Streets of Rage 1-3, Oni, God Hand, Sonic-R (they have never played it, they don't know anything about it, I am looking forward to this) and many others I don't remember right now.

Oh hell, you make it sound harder than it is. My friends and I would do LAN parties where we barely saw sunlight for 48 hours back in the '90s, playing Duke Nukem and Quake!

If only we'd thought to make it for a good cause at the time!

Did you read what I'm playing?

Also, don't be proud of that.

As a poor person who wants to go to your birthday shit, I can only pay a tenner. I may be able to double it if a mass singalong of "Super Sonic Racing" were to occur however.

I'll see what I can do, I don't know if they're prepared for the unbridled JOY of the Sonic-R soundtrack.

Coming into a thread about charity and saying "hah, I've done better" is just crass and grabbing for attention and not needed for a charity thread.

I'm not disagreeing with your argument, just how you made it.

Wooper, I'm not going to turn this thread into a flame war, but my post wasn't intended seriously, so stop being an antagonistic asshole. I've always tried to be civil with you and you just throw shit in my face every chance you get, and I'm tired of it.

Now, with that said...

I apologize to PowerStreak if it came across as a criticism of his charitable cause, but it was meant as a "back in my day, we walked uphill in the snow both ways!" crotchety old man bit, not a dig against the charity itself. I think it's a great cause!

Do it like an 80s celebrity charity-single.

Not sure if this is a derail or on topic, but a few of my friends did this last year and are also doing it again. They're actually streaming video here. Powerstreak, good on you for supporting a good cause!

24: The Game is a meta experience designed to let you know what the people Jack Bauer tortures feel.

Whereas Pimp My Ride is actually pure hilarity on a disc.
