Well, he did seem to have turned things around in so far as he was a) always nice, quiet and courteous b) never talked shit or made up stories. He pretty much didn't say boo most of the time.

I never had enough in common with TabbyKat to pay attention really. All I knew was she was supposedly an athlete and liked making cat characters in MMO's. Finding out she was RyanLee the whole time is fucking hilarious however. 3 years, wow... that's a new record.

In SWG, he was pretty straight up during my time there. Never caught him lying, making things up, stealing anything--he was helpful and friendly and worked pretty hard to try and be a good part of the group. He actually earned back some trust and goodwill, not just from me. If that was really him and he just threw it all away, it's a bit heartbreaking.

I remember when the art thing happened. I had believed he didn't trace because I have the ability to replicate art down to the minutest lines and details and I was myself accused of tracing in back in school because of it.

Ah god, I still remember when someone looked up Jemma Jameson's schedule because Ryan's story was so heavily unbelievable.

The art thing was stupid. Yeah, he shouldn't have claimed it as his own, but apart from the poses it was still original drawings of people's SWG characters. The poses were the only copied thing, the Zabrak face tattoos and horns and custom pistols were still custom.

Nah, Ryan did get a lot of noise for trying to pass off traced drawings as art school projects. I think the one I remember the most was based on a J Scott Campbell drawing, though I could be wrong. No added SWG stuff, just the same drawing that he then colored in.

The problem that made it obvious wasn't that it was too close to the original artists drawings. What made it obvious was the telltale wiggly line that inexperienced tracers get - they have the ability to follow most of the line, but don't have years of muscle-memory control built in, so the lines have a subtle shakiness. It's hard to miss when you know what it looks like.
