My god, I was fairly convinced I was the only person on the damn board who thought like you do. I didn't vote for Bush OR Gore in 2000, but in 2004 I did vote for Bush because he had managed to do something very few politicians had managed to do, and that was win my respect.

No, he wasn't perfect. Yes he and his administration made mistakes. But damnit, he did take the country's security seriously. I remember one press conference a little while after he started authorizing strikes against terrorist locations and personnel, he reported, that they had captured many terrorists and fugitives and many others "well, they won't be harming anyone again". There was a LOT of applause at that line.

I don't consider myself a Democrat or Republican. I will vote for the person I feel can get the job done. I do not feel Obama is that person. I don't agree with his ideas about the economy, I do not agree with his ideas that Government is the only thing that can fix things. I don't agree with his skin color. I don't agree with his choice of friends. Yea, I'm bringing up the racist whackjob pastor, and the avowed bomber.

But, he got elected, fair and square. I only hope people's desire for unspecified change doesn't disappoint them or worse down the road.

The Patriot Act passed 99-1. Because after 9-11 everyone was scared shitless and nobody was thinking clearly and all of the civil liberties and rights to privacy that it trampled over didn't seem to matter back then.

And I don't understand your second question. I think it's pretty awful that Sarah Palin and her husband basically stalked Mike Wooten, tried to get Walter Monegan to fire Wooten because they couldn't, then fired Walter Monegan for NOT firing Mike Wooten because they COULD, and then couldn't keep the facts straight about exactly what happened and how much pressure they did or did not put on various people in connection to this guy!

And just so you know, the reason why Walter Monegan DIDN'T fire Mike Wooten is because all of the alleged things that he had done HAD ALREADY BEEN ADDRESSED. He had been investigated, suspended for 10 days, the case had been closed, THE END. That, and "the troopers operate under a union contract that restricts the circumstances under which a trooper can be fired.[45] "

1. Ok! But for Beck, that tends to mean "No matter what." Sorry, throwing people into cells for no reason and torturing people is NOT good even if the Good Ole USA is doing it.

2. First Amendment, meet Beck. Beck, first Amendment. If you want to believe..that's perfectly fine. Just don't harass those who don't, or try to impose your rules on other religions.

3. Fine. Does he actually follow this?

4. I didn't realize Beck was an anarchist?

5. This directly contradicts 4. And I sorely doubt he actually follows this; most people tend to be all "ra ra law and order" until THEY break the law, then its all "Well, I had a reason..."

6. Fine. Except if he uses it to go where I think he's going to.

7. Hey, what about point 2? "What you do to the least of my children you do to me" and all that. He's also apparently never heard of side-effects. Namely: You spend government money to do X (say, house the homeless) so you DON'T spent money to do Y (hire extra police to deal with crime from people on the street)

When the fuck did I say any of that?

Please cite some actual fucking sources saying that "Mike Wooten continued to drink after he was suspended because Walter Monegan let him get away with that."

And please keep in mind that part of the terms of the initial suspension were that if he acted up again, he would have been fired.
