Garen Qatia al-Jedifa, an Al-Hadar from the far side of the Tumbling Mountains, had a problem. He had a good family, with a collection of strong siblings, mostly sisters. His family wasn't poor, but getting all the daughters married off had cost his father nearly the last of his lands and reserves. Garen had come along late in his mother's life, and even though they had given him a good upbringing, he knew there would be little help for him to get set up in a livelihood.

As he went through adolescence and neared adulthood, he started to try to figure out how to make it on his own. He would wander off, down the rocky shores of his homeland and cross over to the barrier islands that protected their homes from the worst of the ocean's energy. He would gather up pieces of flotsam and jetsam and peddle them off to folks too busy to hunt for them.

Finally, as he reached adulthood, he had a final celebration with his family, took his meager savings, and set off across the mountains to Ajayib. There, he learned about Haku from an old cleric who had hired him to repair a garden wall that had collapsed. After a few such jobs under the eye and tutelage of the old Human cleric, Garen publicly declared his loyalty to Haku and the old cleric bade him to set out to Huzuz so he could discover for himself the many facets of Haku and Fate.

Genies speak the various elemental languages, though they speak Midani (the local common) as well. Nog and Kadar have languages you could learn to read, but not speak, if you had a backstory reason to know an ancient dead langauge.

Racial languages do NOT exist.

Okay, after tussling with HeroForge for a couple of hours, I finally got it to play nice.

suncrush, I'm thinking that Weapon Finesse is still okay as a feat prerequisite for Corsair. I'm still not sure about the skill, but for a ranger, Use Rope works.

Edit/ Oops, just saw the post about available languages. I selected Midani, but I'll have to switch two (Common & Elven). Lemme think about that. It seems that HeroForge won't let you *not* take Common, even if you deselect it from the list of available languages.

What's even left if you can't take Elven and Halfling?

I had too much fun with my equipment, by the way. 10 daggers + PBS +Rapid Shot. I'm suddenly getting a 'Gambit' vibe. I might spend some of my leftover gps on the 'More Daggers' feat and trade in my shortsword for its upgrade 'Really, That's More Than the Sufficient Amount of Daggers'.

Something you move towards as you level up. There are entry requirements that typically require several levels of a base class first.

Are you going with the melee combat style? You also don't have a feat selected. Finally do you want to be Farid the Wild, which is Farid al-Bariya, or Farid from Bariya, which is Farid al-Bariya'i?

In Spellforge, a separate sheet. If you tell me what your "Normal" spell load is, I can handle it.

You don't need to take cure minor wounds. You can blow any spell of a given level and cast that levels cure spell instead. So you can say, "I am burning my Guidance spell to cast Cure Light"
