What a mess. All the marketing spent on promoting this film for next month's release. Expected revenue for the film and home video release shifted into the next year.

Worst of all, the toys for this movie are on the shelves now. This especially stings as this is a movie based off of a toy line. I expect they are trying to salvage a few scenes and really don't want to go up against other summer movies this year. There has been some positive world of mouth based off of the trailers... maybe they want to build on that.

Still, they'd have to be looking at a pretty big loss here from this move. I'd love to see the math at work here. This is a pretty drastic move. The movie probably blows, but how could it be worse than the first one?

Hey, look at that, looks like it's not just about doing a leisurely, 9 month "conscientious" 3-D post-conversion. It tested badly, and they're going to be doing lengthy reshoots.
