Scalia still a scumbag. Water is wet.

Still don't like that the police say, "Hey you look Mexican. Lemme see your papers!" if they're pulled over for speeding though.

From what I understood listening to the story on NPR this morning, that provision is left alone with the interpretation that the person will be allowed to go if they can't verify their status on the spot, instead of putting them into lockup while they check.

Ahh. Okay then. That is much better.

I wonder how Jan Brewer is able to spin that into a "victory" then?

It's a victory to her because they still get to hassle Latinos.

And I guess that's all she really wanted.

So maybe it's a moral victory.

They also struck down a longstanding Montana state law against corporate campaign contributions and reaffirmed the Citizens United ruling that "we really mean it - no limits on corporate political spending."

SCOTUS also ruled that giving 14 year olds life sentences without the possibility of parole violates the 8th Amendment.

All in all - a much better day then I thought it would be for these cases. Health Care is pretty much all that's left which means it should come on Thursday.

Lemme guess--Scalia and Thomas dissented.

As a general rule, of course. Those two belong in their own separate room...
