No joke, I'm absolutely serious. I can't tell you the number of times I've read something rude and ignorant on these forums, and said to myself, fuck it, this is stupid, I'm not gonna waste my time here anymore. And every time I do, I find that, within twenty-four hours, I miss the place. I miss reading posts by AKBoarder and Wooper, I find them both to be intelligent guys with worthwhile opinions. I miss seeing all the home-made art, from simple doodles to Lemonhead's avatars, and even that film noir library serial that made the Hall of Fame. I miss Sicarii's posts. I miss Gilfalas and his friendliness and optimism and general goodheartedness. I miss catching up on Reconstructing Comics, because I almost always find it to be clever and insightful, if mercilessly brutal. I miss the latest in entertainment news, from movie trailers and discussions, comic books and webcomics, occasionally book- and reading-related threads. Even now, just looking at the front page, I see threads I've been interested enough in to check out: TMNT fantasy fights, Penny Arcade's latest special, earthquake etymology, fundamentalist nonsense, Transformers 2 discussion (which I have thoroughly enjoyed), hiring porn stars instead of sex workers, even a philosophical discussion started by you yourself, regarding what I can only assume is this sordid misunderstanding that won't seem to end. I'll be checking out after I finish posting this.
You want to know something I really like? Something I downright love? Something that makes me happy? Something that I can't stand to be twenty-four hours without?

EDIT: Also, for what it's worth, I'm not ignoring my avatar, I'm just waiting for Lemonhead to get around to mine so I can put it up. If he does one for me, that is. I think he said he was on page 3, post 61 last time I checked, and I made my request on page 5. So again, assuming he doesn't skip me, as soon as he's done I'll have one.
