Since I imagine a few of us are old enough to remember this series I thought it might be of interest.

At the very least, it was the series that introduced me to Maurice Sendak's Really Rosie. Man, I really wanted that little video player back then. And I kind of have it on my cell phone now that I think about it...

Only this time instead of it being a Wii exclusive, it's for all current... er, I mean, next generation consoles.

And lest you PC and Mac gamers feel left out, there will be versions for your platforms as well.

I find this fascinating because while I did like the original, I didn't think it did well enough that a sequel would be in the offing.

Of course, I'm probably the only one here who actually cares.

Quote:

Verizon Wireless plans to force customers to give up their unlimited data plans when they move to its high-speed wireless service, a top executive for parent Verizon Communications Inc. said on Wednesday.

For now, Verizon Wireless customers who move to the company's highest-speed fourth generation (4G) network from its older network can still use the company's unlimited wireless data plan for a flat monthly fee.

But that will change after Verizon Wireless launches a new shared data plan this summer, according to Chief Financial Officer Fran Shammo.

"As they start to migrate they'll have to come off unlimited and go to the shared data plan," said Shammo who told analysts that he expects the shared plans would boost revenue for Verizon Wireless over time.

Under the new plan, customers will be able to share a monthly data allowance among devices, unlike current offerings, where they have to sign up for a separate data plan for every device connected to the wireless operator's network.

But because their data use will be metered, customers' monthly fees will increase as they increase their usage.

Shammo said he also expects the new offering to encourage customers to connect more of their devices to its network. As a result, he expects them to have to sign up for higher-tier data services that come with higher fees.

"We're fairly confident we'll start to see people uptick in the tiers, which is where we'll see the revenue accretion." Shammo said in a webcast of an investor conference.

The company declined to comment on when exactly it expects the policy changes to take place.

Once the shared plans are available, Shammo said he would change how he reports wireless revenue. Instead of reporting average revenue per user, Shammo said the company would start reporting average revenue per account.

One area where carriers like Verizon have been missing out is tablet computers as consumers have been hesitant to pay the extra cost of connecting their tablet to the cellular network. But Shammo said this may change with shared data plans.

Another sticking point is that operators like Verizon do not subsidize tablet computers. Shammo said this would not change any time soon.

"We're holding pretty strong with the model of no subsidies on these devices," the executive said.

The high price of devices such as the Apple Inc. iPhone have hurt operator margins as Verizon and its rivals pay hefty subsidies for the device so it can offer the phones at a discount to customers who sign a two-year contract.

But Shammo said he is looking closely at moves by European operators to back off on subsidizing smartphones.

"I think the industry is going to look hard at these types of models going forward," he said.

Verizon Wireless is a venture of Verizon Communications and Vodafone Group Plc.

As usual with Facebook posts, it's almost impossible to have any type of civil discussion or argument.

Old college staff member that I love is my friend of FB, but she loves to post inane right wing pics and memes.

This latest one she posted, was actually kind of clever. I said "not as good as 'Bush or Chimp' but it's a little clever and not racist."

Which then got derailed with "I have no issue with him being a mulatto, I just don't like him because he's a socialist."

then I clarified that I was praising the meme for not being racist because so many anti-Obama things tend to go that way.

BUT, I also "lol-ed" at Obama being a Socialist. The aftermath of which is typical, 'oh, yes, I don't know what I'm talking about, stupid me' talk. So I abandoned the discussion.

Anyways, it lead me to create this, which I would post on FB, but I'd just get non constructive shit from people, and I'd rather amuse a larger audience.

Tadaa:

Hello forumites.

I've decided to give game streaming a try over at twitch.tv. Last weekend was my first attempt and hit a few bumps a long the way I'm sorting out.

As I'm brand new to streaming games live, was curious if anyone had any tips or recommendations for what they feel makes for a good broadcast?

Thanks in advance.

I made a thread a little while ago about how awesome bats are. This is because I started volunteering with a national bat conservation group to help out when the offices are closed. Given bats are nocturnal, probably more calls about injured/grounded bats come in after-hours, and summer is when they have their babies so it's a pretty hectic time.

This evening I'm on my first shift, 5:30 - 11:00, taking emergency calls that are being diverted to my mobile phone. It's nice that I can do this at home in my pajamas, but it's also a bit stressful just waiting for my phone to ring, because I am literally the only person taking calls for the entire UK tonight.

I've had two calls so far, which is alright.

Given my phone needs to be kept free, my laptop (which doubles as my tv) has to be ready with all of my electronic forms and google maps for a network of carers, and I can't leave the flat all evening, I am in serious need of some entertainment while I "work" until bed. Help me, FO!

[FORT] stands for Forumopolis Rotten Tomatoes. It is a discussion thread about a movie, with a poll with ONLY Good and Bad as options. It is designed to emulate the website www.rottentomatoes.com and give a % of people that thought a movie was good. Some times they are for "big" movies after a month or so has passed, some times they are just movies that I or someone else wants to jam a thermometer into FO's collective asses to get the reading for what we thought of the movie in general. Also, fair warning, after the OP, unmarked spoilers are fair game.

Criteria for a valid FORT:
2) Two options (any variation of good/bad)
3) 25 votes

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is a 2011 British-American action mystery film directed by Guy Ritchie and produced by Joel Silver, Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey, and Dan Lin. It is a sequel to the 2009 film Sherlock Holmes, based on the character of the same name created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The screenplay is written by Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney. Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law reprise their roles as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson, and several other actors appear as characters they played in the 2009 film.

Holmes and Watson join forces to outwit and bring down their most cunning adversary, Professor Moriarty, played by Jared Harris. The film is specifically influenced by Conan Doyle's work The Final Problem, but it is an independent story rather than a strict adaptation.

So I guess I'm just looking for some general advice on what to look for apartment wise, maybe some general big city/Chicago specific living advice. Pretty sure we are gonna get a place in either Logan Square or Humbolt Park. I won't have a car so I'm gonna be using public transit lots and lots.
Also, soon to be fellow Chicagoans, wanna be my friend? :D
